Overview

All Source Analysis System Light (ASAS-L)

TacOps developed the All Source Analysis System Light (ASAS-L), which is a Windows-based laptop system to provide intelligence analysis support for Battalion and lower level combat units. Over 2,500 ASAS-L systems are currently fielded to Army combat units. ASAS-L was the Army’s first Windows-based, ruggedized Army Battlefield Command System/Army Tactical Command and Control System (ABCS/ATCCS) laptop to pass the formal acquisition process and be approved for fielding. The ASAS-L family of products provides the capability to take intelligence information from disparate sources (reports, messages, databases, excel spreadsheets) and combine that information into a synchronized repository of individuals, events, organizations, facilities, units, equipment and their relationships. By integrating and combining information on these entities and their attributes (e.g. license plate number and color of a vehicle) ASAS-L provide a variety of displays that produce relevant and critical information to detect patterns in behaviors, identify relationships between individuals and events or organizations, and track entities of interest.

All Source Analysis System Light (ASAS-L) is the tactical, Army-approved, fielded, multi-intelligence, and intelligence and electronic warfare (IEW) system providing:

  • Multi-Int, synchronized command-level view of the enemy and friendly forces on the battlefield
  • Support to conventional and non-traditional operations
  • Message, XML and overlay interoperability with ABCS and joint systems
  • Web-based product sharing
  • Stand-alone or networked ABCS environment
  • Windows 2000/XP/2003/MS Office 2000/XP

Key Features of ASAS-L

ASAS-L meets the demands of battlefield portability and interoperability. It works in both networked/stand-alone environments and support rapid jumps with small footprints and reduced power requirements. ASAS-L enables tactical units to exchange intelligence information using standard messages, XML data transfer, and a variety of overlay formats and web-based products. It creates seamless connectivity by interfacing with the Tactical Internet and select combat-net radios. The ASAS-L is interoperable in V4 and V6 (ABCS) environments, operates at various security levels and is accredited. In addition, ASAS-L provides the flowing core set of services:
